Dossier completed

We sent our final papers today to Ukraine- including our I797 (which used to be called an I-171H)! We do not know when we will be called to Ukraine for our appointment. All we can do is wait. Please pray with us for the officials at the SDA who give out the referrals and for the officials in the regions who grant families permission to visit the orphans. Pray that their hearts will be softened toward the orphans and that they will see the love of Christ through families who come there to bring the children into their lives and their homes.

Shipped out

We shipped our almost completed paperwork (dossier) to Ukraine today. It should be there by the first of next week. Wow! This really makes it more than an abstract idea... it's more of a reality! We still have a waiting game to play, but what a blessing and what a ride it will be. Praise God and may He receive all of the glory!

Paperwork and more paperwork....

We headed to Louisiana this weekend to pick up some needed papers for the USCIS. We were able to get the certified papers they requested quite easily. We sent them priority mail to Atlanta. They should get there on Tues or Wed of next week. Our facilitator emailed us asking if we have received our 171 yet. It is reassuring to us that he checks in on us and our progress occasionally. This should be all they need and hopefully things will get finalized and approved so that we can get our dossier over there!

We are sill considering our options for a mission trip to Ukraine this summer. Please pray with us for direction and discernment in this area.

Lost

Last week, after trying for weeks to find information on the status of our paperwork, I received an email from USCIS stating that they did not have our home study. Well......I went into panic mode. Our social worker said it was sent to them about 8 weeks prior. So I started emailing and calling at an alarming rate. After talking with my social worker and a friend who knows about "things of this nature" our home study was again sent to USCIS on Feb. 4.

We then received a letter requesting more information from them. So now, we are more delayed than we had hoped for. So, we march forward and try to gather all records needed.
